Question 1

Where do you work?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Sudbury and cover around an average 60 mile radius. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, just give us a call and we'll let you know.

Question 2

How do I get a quote?

Accepted Answer

The easiest way is to give us a call on 07915 262570 or 07795 493848— we can often give you a rough idea over the phone. For anything more involved, we'll arrange a  site visit so we can see exactly what's needed and give you an accurate, no-obligation quote.

Question 3

Is the quote really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely. There's no charge for a written quote, and no obligation to go ahead. We'd rather you make the right decision for your project.

Question 4

How quickly can you start?

Accepted Answer

It depends on our current workload and the size of the job. Smaller jobs can sometimes be fitted in within a week or two; larger projects may need a bit more lead time. Get in touch and we'll give you an honest idea of availability.

Question 5

Do you work in all weathers?

Accepted Answer

We work through most conditions — light rain doesn't stop us. However, we won't work in conditions that would damage your garden or make the job unsafe, such as very heavy rain or frozen ground. We'll always keep you informed if weather affects your booking.

Question 6

How do you price your work?

Accepted Answer

Most jobs are priced on a fixed-quote basis after a site visit, so you know exactly what you'll pay before we start. For some smaller or day-rate jobs we may quote on a time-and-materials basis — we'll always be clear about which applies.

Question 7

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept bank transfer and cash. We'll agree payment terms with you upfront — typically a deposit to secure the booking and the balance on completion.

Question 8

Do you charge for materials separately?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the job. For most projects we'll include materials in the overall quote so you have one clear figure. If you'd prefer to supply your own materials (for example, a specific type of timber for raised beds), we're happy to discuss that.

Question 9

What can a mini digger be used for in a garden?

Accepted Answer

Quite a lot — excavating for foundations, clearing soil, digging trenches for drainage or utilities, levelling uneven ground, removing tree stumps, and general groundworks. If you're not sure whether a digger is the right tool for your job, just ask.

Question 10

Will the digger damage my garden?

Accepted Answer

We take care to minimise disruption. We use tracked machines that spread their weight, and we plan access routes carefully. Some ground disturbance is inevitable with excavation work, but we'll always discuss this with you beforehand and leave the site as tidy as possible.

Question 11

Can you get a digger through a standard garden gate?

Accepted Answer

Our mini digger can fit through a gap of around 80cm, which covers most standard side gates. If access is tight, let us know and we'll assess whether it's workable before quoting.

Question 12

What timber do you use for raised beds?

Accepted Answer

We typically use pressure-treated softwood, which is durable, cost-effective, and safe for growing vegetables. We can also use hardwood such as oak for a more premium finish. We'll advise on the best option for your budget and intended use.

Question 13

How long will raised beds last?

Accepted Answer

Pressure-treated timber beds typically last 10–15 years with normal use. Hardwood beds can last considerably longer. The lifespan depends on the timber, how well the beds drain, and general maintenance.

Question 14

Can you fill the beds with soil and compost?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we can arrange filling as part of the job. We'll discuss the best mix for what you're planning to grow. Just let us know when you enquire.

Question 15

What types of fencing do you install?

Accepted Answer

We fit close-board, feather-edge, post-and-rail, picket, and post-and-wire fencing. Whether it's a garden boundary, a paddock fence, or something decorative, we can advise on the right style for your needs.

Question 16

How long does fencing installation take?

Accepted Answer

A typical garden fence replacement (say, 20–30 metres) usually takes one to two days. Larger runs or more complex jobs will take longer. We'll give you a realistic timescale when we quote.

Question 17

Do I need to do anything to prepare before you arrive?

Accepted Answer

Not usually. If there are plants or obstacles close to the fence line, it helps to clear them back if you can, but we can work around most things. We'll let you know if there's anything specific to sort beforehand.

Question 18

Can you fit a gate I've already bought?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer a fit-only service if you've already purchased a gate. Just make sure you have the dimensions to hand when you get in touch so we can confirm it's suitable for the opening.
